Why AGM is required for modern start-stop
In a typical start-stop vehicle, the battery experiences 5–10× more discharge-recharge cycles than in a conventional vehicle. Standard flooded batteries fail within 18 months in this duty cycle. AGM technology immobilizes the electrolyte in absorbent fiberglass mats, allowing sustained partial state of charge operation, regenerative brake charge acceptance, and deep discharge survival — none of which conventional flooded can deliver.
